About

IISpeed is a native C++ module that ports PageSpeed Automatic optimization to Microsoft IIS. It automatically optimizes website output for bandwidth and latency, improving user experience and Core Web Vitals compliance.

The project started in 2012, announced on the Google Developers Blog in 2013 when We-Amp partnered with Google to bring PageSpeed optimization to the Windows/IIS ecosystem. IISpeed was built on top of the same PageSpeed Automatic libraries used by mod_pagespeed (Apache) and ngx_pagespeed (nginx).

Supported technologies

IISpeed works with any technology running on Microsoft IIS, including:

  • ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC
  • Classic ASP
  • PHP on Windows
  • ColdFusion
  • Plesk on Windows
  • SharePoint

Transition to mod_pagespeed 1.1

IISpeed is now maintained as part of mod_pagespeed 1.1, which includes a native IIS port built on the same PageSpeed Automatic library. Existing IISpeed licenses transfer to 1.1 at no cost — email info@we-amp.com with your license key.

New features, bug fixes, and security patches are developed for 1.1 going forward. Full transition details and FAQ.

Company
