Buy IISpeed

New IISpeed sales are closed. IISpeed itself no longer receives updates, but we still answer questions about it, and existing IISpeed customers transfer to mod_pagespeed at no cost. The IIS port is open source under Apache-2.0 — nothing to purchase to run it; support plans are at modpagespeed.com.

IISpeed is now mod_pagespeed

IISpeed's IIS integration is now maintained in mod_pagespeed, and its IIS installer incorporates it. IISpeed itself no longer receives updates: no new features, bug fixes or security patches. Existing IISpeed installations keep working, there is no hard cutoff date, and we still answer questions about IISpeed. Fixes, including security fixes, go into the mod_pagespeed IIS module and reach IIS users through its published installers; the current one is 2.6.0. Existing customers transfer their license at no cost.

Transfer your license

Request the transfer through the license-transfer form on modpagespeed.com, with your order number or the email address the license was bought under. License transfers are handled manually, usually within a business day or two. mod_pagespeed is open source now, so no new license is needed — the transfer is at no cost.

Download the installer

The IIS installer is an Authenticode-signed MSI, published on the module's GitHub release:

The GPG signature in SHA256SUMS.asc verifies the checksum file, and SHA256SUMS then verifies the MSI; the steps are in Verifying a Release. Check the fingerprint of the key you import against the one above. It is not the key that signs the apt and dnf repositories.

On Windows, the installer's Authenticode signature, publisher We-Amp B.V., remains the check for the MSI itself: Get-AuthenticodeSignature pagespeed-iis-2.6.0-win-x64.msi must report Valid with a signer certificate starting CN=We-Amp B.V., and Windows shows the same publisher when you run the installer.

Running IISpeed on the same host? Uninstall it first. Uninstall IISpeed before installing mod_pagespeed; the two are not designed to run on the same server. Save your IISpeed configuration files, uninstall IISpeed from Programs and Features, run iisreset, then run the MSI. The migration walkthrough covers every step, including verification and rollback.

Configure and tune

Configuration directives, filters, and cache settings are documented for the IIS module:

  • IIS configuration — site bindings, application pools, and the pagespeed.config root file (or the legacy iiswebspeed.config for existing installations).
  • IIS tuning — UrlSegmentMaxLength registry key, cache sizing, and rewrite deadlines.
